Why do I get error Bad Username
If you have been directed to this page, chances are you receive the following error when trying to connect to DareNET: Bad username. This is in reference to the User ID that is between ! and @ in your hostmask (i.e. nick!user@host). It must comply with a few specific rules:
- Only one '-', '_' or '.' is allowed. Two are allowed, if not consecutive, but not as the first or last character.
- No other special characters are allowed.
- Must contain at least one letter.
mIRC users may change their User ID in the following way:
- Options > Email
- Options > connect > Identd.
