So, what is the best way to handle such a situation? There is only one correct way to handle this situation. No staff member is allowed to ever to discuss a kick/shun/ban/kill/g-line with anyone but the user directly involved (this includes network-owned channels), and fellow staff. Even then, all such discussions are to be done in private only. You are not allowed to discuss these situations with non-staff members, and especially never in an open channel.

If other users ask you about a situation regarding another user or complain about an "unfair" ban, you are NOT allowed to discuss it at all. If you were the one who intervened with the user in question, tell them you are not allowed to discussion such situations except with the user directly involved. If they persist in questioning you, refer them to the CSA. Do not ever discuss the matter further. If you were not involved in the event in question, simply state that you were not present and have no knowledge of the alleged incident. Then refer them to the CSA.

You should never reverse or openly question another staff member's actions, especially in any channel or with non-staff members. Even if you secretly agree with the user demanding an explanation of an "unfair" intervention, as a DareNET staff member, you must remain publicly silent. We want to present a united front to our users. The appropriate way to express any concerns about how a situation was handled, is to discuss it privately with the staff member in question. If you are uncomfortable speaking to the staff member, discuss the problem with the appropriate team leader or a CSA member for further investigation. We are a TEAM. United we stand, divided we fall. We must always support one another, present a cohesive front to our users, and direct questions and concerns through the proper channels of communication. Professional behavior towards our users and professional courtesy toward our fellow staff members help keep DareNET the best community to visit.
